HOW TO GIVE TO EMBRACE

Thank you so much for considering making a donation to Embrace the Middle East! This page should answer any questions you have about how to donate, but please don’t hesitate to contact our friendly Supporter Experience team should you need further assistance.

+ DONATIONS

I sent you a donation through the post but I can’t see it has been banked. What should I do?

Please don’t worry, there may be a small delay. Give us a call on 01494 897950 and speak to one of our friendly Supporter Experience team members and they will be able to confirm whether we have received your donation in the post or not.

Can I donate via bank transfer?

Yes you can donate via a bank transfer. We would ask that you please let us know you will be making a donation in this way by completing the Fundraising Donations Form so we can correctly match your donation once received.

Can I donate over the phone?

Yes of course! We accept debit and credit cards so please give us a call on 01494 897950 and one of our friendly Supporter Experience team will be able to take the donation for you.

Just have your details ready and we’ll do the rest!

I have had problems donating on your website and I am worried you’ve taken more than I intended. What can I do?

If you have had problems when donating online, don’t worry, give our Supporter Experience team a call on 01494 897950 and they will be able to look into that for you and help relieve any concerns.

I was touched by seeing one of your beneficiaries in a photo used in one of your mailings. How do I send a donation directly for them?

Thank you for your concern and compassion for the people our Christian partners help. We understand that our supporters are touched by the stories we share. However, we are unable to provide financial assistance to specific individual beneficiaries.

How do regular gifts help you?

Regular gifts are a wonderful and special way of giving to the work of our Christian partners and we are extremely grateful to those who wish to give in this way. Regular gifts give us the security to plan how we best support our Christian partners and the work they do long term and for the future.

How do I start to make a monthly donation?

Thank you for choosing to support our partners through a regular donation. It couldn’t be easier to set up! You can choose to give by Direct Debit or through a reoccurring card payment.

To arrange your Direct Debit please complete our online form. If you would prefer to arrange for a monthly card donation to be taken, please click here and ensure you select ‘Monthly’ at the top of the form.

All gifts go where the need is greatest to support the work of our Christian partners across the areas we work.

How much should I give?

The amount that you wish to give is entirely up to you. All donations are amazing and make a huge impact. It’s wonderful to know that you are thinking of our partners and the people they serve.

Why should I set up a Direct Debit and not a Standing Order? How do they differ?

Direct Debits are a quick and convenient way to give your regular donation and is our preferred method of payment. Administration costs are much lower, and you get the security of the Direct Debit Guarantee. Any changes that need to be made to your regular donation can be done by us on your behalf, saving you time and effort.

Reoccurring card payments are a method of payment that can take a donation from your card automatically for an agreed amount and date, saving you time and effort.

However, we do understand that some of our supporters prefer to give regularly via a Standing Order, which is absolutely fine. To set this up you can either talk directly with your bank or you can give us a call and we will send you a form to fill in. Please be aware that only your bank can make changes and administration costs are higher.

How do I change the amount or frequency I donate regularly?

If you donate by Direct Debit, Regular Card Donation, cash, voucher or cheque please give our Supporter Experience Team a call on 01494 897950 or email them at info@embraceme.org to let us know of the changes and we will do the rest.

If you donate by Standing Order, you will need to tell your bank so that they can make the necessary changes. We would also appreciate you letting us know so please do contact us on 01494 897950 or info@embraceme.org

How do I update my bank details?

If your bank details or card details change, please let us know and we can update these details over the phone. Please contact our Supporter Experience Team on 01494 897950.

My circumstances have changed and I need to cancel my regular gift. How do I do this?

We are extremely grateful for every donation that we receive and we do understand that everyone’s circumstances are different and do change.

If you are considering cancelling your regular donation, or perhaps you may need to reduce the amount or adjust the frequency, then please do get in touch to let us help you find what works best for you. You can either give our Supporter Experience Team a call on 01494 897950 or contact them by email. They will be very happy to help you.

If you donate by Direct Debit or a Reoccurring Card Donation and you wish to cancel, please let us know immediately as we can cancel this for you as soon as you contact us.

If you donate by Standing Order, please tell your bank to cancel your donation. We would also appreciate you letting us know so that we can make sure our records are updated appropriately. So please do give us a call or contact us by email.

+ GIFT AID

I would like to be able to Gift Aid my donation, how do I do this?

Adding Gift Aid means your donation will increase by 25% at no extra cost to you.

We can claim Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer and understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year it is my responsibility to pay any difference.

You can give us permission to claim Gift Aid when you set up your Direct Debit.

+ OTHER QUESTIONS

I have some items that I thought you could send to your partners. Where do I send these?

Thank you for your generous and thoughtful offer. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to accept and transport items to our partners in the Middle East due to the cost and complications of shipping. This is also one of the reasons we provide financial support for our partners, rather than shipping them materials. It also means that they procure the items they need from nearby suppliers and so help boost the local economy.

I want to change the amount of post I get from you. How do I change this?

If you would like to make changes to the information you receive from us and the way you receive it, please contact us either by phone on 01494 897950 or email info@embraceme.org and we would be happy to make those changes for you.
