CEO: Tim Livesey*

I joined Embrace in July 2017 from Oxfam. I had previously worked in government – nearly 20 years in the Foreign Office – in politics and as an adviser to Rowan Williams when he was Archbishop of Canterbury and Cardinal Cormac Murphy O’Connor when he was Archbishop of Westminster. I worked for a couple of years in Downing Street and for four years ran the UK’s development programme in Nigeria.

It’s a real privilege to be part of a very talented and dedicated team here at Embrace working in support of Christian partners in the Middle East to improve the lives and livelihoods of some of the most vulnerable and marginalised communities in the region.

Human Resources Manager: Lucy Insua*

My role is to support the wonderfully, talented and committed employees of Embrace. I make sure our current (and future) staff are supported, appreciated, informed and challenged so that we can continue our Christian mission.

I have 20 years HR experience from the charity and commercial sectors. I am proud to work for an organisation built on it’s deep rooted Christian values of respect, accountability, compassion, excellence and integrity. It really couldn’t get any better.

Office Manager/Executive Team Assistant: Sharon Mason

My role at Embrace is to ensure the smooth running of the office (from making sure we don’t run out of tea, to making sure the post goes out on time), to supporting the CEO and HR manager, and to manage general office health and safety.

I previously worked for the University of Westminster, as a TV Studio Manager and Technician, which involved teaching students TV production skills, being a lighting director, technical rigger and multi-skilled studio operator.    

In my spare time, I love cooking and comedy writing, and have a keen interest in ancient civilisations. 

Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager: Mike Dangerfield

Embrace is keen to develop philanthropic partnerships with individuals and charitable trusts who are able to support the work of Embrace at the level of £5,000 and above. Legacy and In Memory Manager: Charlotte Devereux

I’m responsible for explaining and promoting Legacy and In Memory giving to our supporters, and for dealing with the administrative side of legacy pledges and gifts.

I aim to convey my excitement about what has been achieved through projects funded by the generosity of our supporters who live us gifts in their will. I want to break down the barriers (of language and awkwardness) around talk of wills and legacies, and to inspire people to see how they can make a difference that outlives themselves!

Digital Co-ordinatorAnna Tetlow 

I work across all the teams at Embrace to look after the digital aspects of the charity. That means I manage the website, our social media pages, and our supporter emails. 

Supporter Care Team

Supporter Care Manager: Joanna Taylor

My role is to ensure the smooth running of our Supporter Care Team as they deal with a range of enquiries and process the generous donations from our supporters.

I liaise with every department to make sure that the team have all the information they need to be able to help our supporters. I started working for Embrace as an Administrator and prior to that I was one of Embrace’s first head office volunteers.

Supporter Care Administrator: Sam Franklin

I answer letters, phone calls and emails that come in from our supporters and process their donations. I also ensure that supporters know the impact of their time and donations.

Supporter Care Data Administrator: Catherine Golding

As well as dealing with processing donations and helping supporters with their enquiries, I also spend a lot of time looking at our database. In particular this involves matching up all our trading orders, something that keeps me very busy in the run up to Christmas!

Supporter Care Administrator: Natalie Maddams

I joined the Supporter Care Team in Autumn 2019, and as a Supporter Care Administrator,  I process many of your generous donations we receive every day.

I previously worked for a defence company for 10 years as a Personal Assistant, and more recently I worked in my local pub. In my spare time, I love to knit. You can find me on most lunchbreaks knitting here in the Embrace office!

Events Manager: Kerensa McCollough

I oversee our events all over the country. This means you are likely to bump into me if you attend the summer festivals or any of the numerous leadership conferences or festivals going on throughout the year. If you see us at an event, please do come and introduce yourself, we love to say hello and meet our amazing supporters.

Advocacy and Campaigns Advisor: Connie Musallam

My role is to coordinate and advise all of our teams in advocacy and campaigning, drawing on the voices and the experience of our partners in the Middle East. I come with experience of this, having previously worked both in the Middle East and internationally, including three years managing programmes for one of Embrace’s partners in Jerusalem.

Finance and Audit

Head of Finance: Jim Buckley

I am responsible for the day to day workings of the finance department. This ranges from making sure payments and income received are processed correctly and on time, to giving the senior leadership team and trustees up to date and accurate accounts. Alongside this I run the payroll, make payments to the tax authorities, deal with VAT and Gift Aid.

I produce the annual report and accounts, make sure we comply with the latest charity accounting and tax rules, look after health & safety concerns and insurance, as well as manage the Trading team.

Finance Assistant: Tom Carter

I joined Embrace in January 2018 and consider it a real privilege to work with such a fantastic, caring team, both within finance and the organisation as a whole. My role within Embrace is mainly charity and trading income accounting as well as Gift Aid and as such I mainly liaise with the Supporter Care Team, Trading plus Programmes and Partnerships.

For the last couple of years I have been working in schools as an LSA helping year 6 children with their English and Maths SATS and also offering pastoral care.  Prior to that the majority of my career was spent in the West End as an accountant working for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Theatres.

Finance Assistant: Heather Flood

I work on income accounting, do a range of tasks for our Trading company and help out with reporting, reconciliations and other financial tasks as needed.

I work part-time and this is my first permanent job in 10 years, as I also have three boys who keep me busy. I find it very fulfilling working for Embrace and love hearing about the work our partners do.

Finance Assistant: Penny Geeves

My role at Embrace is mainly Purchase Ledger for both charity and trading, I also process the grants agreed by the Programmes and Partnerships team.

Before Embrace I worked for over 30 years in the laundry industry. Outside of work, I am a keen gardener and enjoy taking part in the annual local produce show.

Embrace Trading

Head of Trading: Amy Parr

My role as Head of Trading is to support the passionate trading team to bring a selection of Charity gifts and cards to our inspiring customers. 

I am proud to work for Embrace and to help support our partners in the Middle East to change lives of vulnerable people.

Trading Manager: Esther Domson

I run our Trading department, with overall responsibilty for creating our Gift and Card catalogue and webshop. I choose the gifts and cards that we sell and I'm responsible for making sure that when you order from us, your items arrive on time and in good condition.

Head of IT and Security: Sam Mackwell

I'm responsible for the day to day workings of the IT department, which is a varied role ranging from making surere systems are running smoothly to working on our servers infustructure. I also manage Embrace's cyber security and maintaining the high standard we've put in place to secure all data.

Before joining Embrace, I ran IT systems for 15 years in many industrices, including finance and education, and it's a real privilege to bring this knowledge to support the great team here. Outside of the office my spare time is filled with watching football (as a long-suffering Everton fan), playing board games and running the children’s work at my local church.

CRM Support Manager: Peter Jones

Since 2017 I have focused on all the technical and analytical sides of our main database (our CRM), ensuring that it enables us to understand and communicate effectively with our supporters and customers.

I joined Embrace in 2004 and was responsible for all the information systems - while I have now handed this on, I still occasionally get called on to support staff or supporters who may be having problems with our systems!

Programmes and Partnerships

Director of Programmes and Partnerships: Jamie Eyre*

I lead the Partnerships team, working closely with our Programmes and Partnerships Managers to develop our approach to partnership and advocacy issues.

I spent 12 years supporting and implementing relief and development projects in Central Asia and Africa, both as a country based manager and at headquarters, working with the MAG (Mines Advisory Group) and Medair.


Programmes and Partnerships Manager for Egypt: Lydia Nash 

My role is to maintain and develop our partners and programmes in Egypt. I ensure that the money raised by our supporters is spent well, by receiving proposals and reports from our partners on the work that they are doing. I also regularly visit partners and offer support and encouragement for the transformational work that they do.

I work with the Fundraising and Marketing team to communicate the work of our partners to our supporters. I have a background in international development and previously worked for Christian Aid.

Programmes and Partnerships Manager for Palestine and Israel: Rhiannon de Laune

I cut my teeth at Embrace managing the programmes and partnerships in Egypt as maternity cover, but soon sought to make myself a permanent feature, taking over as Programmes and Partnerships Manager for Palestine and Israel.

I started my career setting up an arts and dementia charity in the UK and managing a variety of community development projects. I have a huge passion to see people thrive and have loved the challenge of transferring my skills to an international context, supporting the fantastic partners of Embrace.

Programmes and Partnerships Manager for Lebanon and Syria: Sophia Peiris

I am responsible for supporting our local partners working in Lebanon and Syria, as they seek to bring hope and help to vulnerable and marginalised groups there. I have previously worked for CAFOD and Tearfund, amongst other development organisations.

Programmes and Public Engagement Co-ordinator: Rowena Worthington

I joined Embrace in 2018 in our Programmes and Partnerships team, as maternity cover for our work in Lebanon. I have since covered our projects in Israel and Palestine, and am now helping coordinate our new partners in Iraq. I also spend part of my time with the Public Engagement team, helping with events and building relationships with churches and volunteers.

I come from a financial background, and have seen first-hand the experiences of people with similar stories to those supported by Embrace, having spent time volunteering with refugees in Lebanon, Turkey, and on the Greek island of Lesvos. I feel privileged to work with such fantastic partners and to be part of an organisation that helps some of those who need it most.


Premises Manager: Vic Rance

My role involves liaison with the charity’s tenants and ensuring the offices are in good order and minimising overheads wherever possible. Therefore, it is a role which involves mundane issues such as heating and drains, and trying to ensure all other staff not hampered by problems with the building!

Caretaker: John Stilwell

I am the office caretaker and have been with Embrace since 1966! My role is part-time and involves cleaning the building and doing odd maintenance jobs. This means I may be clearing snow in winter, touching up the paintwork inside the building, or packing up a van to go to a festival!
