Nazareth School of Nursing

Where are they?:

What do they do?:

Provide quality nurse training.

Who benefits?:

Open to all, without distinction, the school is both distinctively Christian and the only nursing school in Israel to cater particularly to Arabic speaking students.

This makes it particularly attractive to female students, around 70% of whom are Muslim.

Students are trained to become registered nurses and each class consists of around 50 young men and women.

After training, nurses work in the local Nazareth Hospital and in regional hospitals and medical centres. Many are employed in primary health care programmes in the local community and it is said that there is hardly a village in Galilee that does not have a Nazareth trained nurse.
