Where are they?:

Mount Lebanon and south Lebanon

What do they do?:

ICNDR is part of the Middle East Council of Churches and aims to help disadvantaged community groups in Lebanon. In particular they work to support and empower vulnerable Lebanese and refugee women through the provision of language, vocational and life-skill training.

Who benefits?:

200 women and girls

Activities:

Women are given training in a range of vocational programmes including community healthcare, hairdressing, cookery and other prgrammes according to their interests.

Alongside the vocational skills programme, the women learn about budget management, communication skills and leadership.

Learning new skills helps women increase their income so they can contribute financially to their households, reduce social isolation and feel more confident.
