Where are they?: 

Alexandria, Egypt

What do they do?: 

An urban church, they seek to act and respond to the community through a wide range of services. 
Fairhaven School opened in 1990 for children with learning difficulties.

Who benefits?: 

Around 150 children and young adults between 5 and 35 years old.

Activities: 
  • Younger children are taught social development, mobility, self care and safety skills alongside academic subjects. Older students are given vocational training eg sewing, woodwork or gardening.


  • A daily meal is provided to every student and fees are charged according to each family’s means.

  • The boarding home is for older students who find it difficult to travel because of their financial situation or are vulnerable to abuse.
