Beit el Nour (House of Light and Hope)

What do they do?: 

Beit el Nour is an ecumenical outreach programme that works with vulnerable women and girls.

Who benefits?: 

145 vulnerable Syrian and Lebanese girls aged 7-18 years and their families.

Activities: 

With Embrace funding Beit el Nour is providing educational support, medical aid, food, clothing and counselling for Syrian refugees and Lebanese girls at risk.

85 girls attend the centre daily after school to receive support with their homework, and take part in games and crafts. Another 60 refugee girls who are out of school come to the centre for English, Maths and Arabic tuition.

The centre also offeres psycho-social support for the girls and their mothers, with the aim of preventing further school drop-outs, early marriages and child labour.
