A message from Embrace CEO Tim Livesey:

If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honoured, all rejoice together.

1 Corinthians 12:26

Most of us will not have known a time more testing than the moment we are living through. For once it is no cliché to say ‘we are in this together’: you our treasured supporters and friends, our partners and those they serve so selflessly, our volunteers, our donors, Embrace’s staff as well as all our families and loved ones.

We want you to know that we are praying for you literally every day. Although we have had to resort to home working, and have done so without fuss, we will continue to work as hard as we can to serve our partners and the marginalised and excluded they serve in this testing time.

We have been in intensive communication with partners over the past two weeks, including face-to-face meetings in Egypt, Palestine and Lebanon (consulting partners about our next five year plan Hope in Action 2021-25) just before borders were closed, and lock downs came into force.

One partner in Lebanon said he had never experienced a time as tense and troubling despite having lived through the 15 years of Lebanon’s civil war. The Covid 19 epidemic has exponentially heightened the enormous strains already bearing in on the Lebanese economy and society. The West Bank and Gaza, hard enough places to live, are in complete shut down.

We would like to keep you in touch with how our partners are faring in the coming weeks. Please take this opportunity to start following us, and them, on social media using the handle @followembrace. Even the most reluctant of us are realising how precious it is to be able to stay in touch this way.

Do please subscribe to our e-mails, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. We will keep you in touch with our partners and those they serve: yes we are suffering, but they will suffer more than us.

We will certainly need your help in the coming months to continue to support the witness and mission of our Christian brothers and sisters in the lands of the Bible.

If you feel moved to give our partners would be incredibly grateful for any additional support you can give at this time.

Find out how you can help.

I would like to close by wishing you and your families the very best over the coming weeks. We remember our supporters in prayer and thank God for you more than ever in these uncertain times.

With profound gratitude for your prayers and continuing support in these very difficult times.

Tim Livesey
