Happy Easter to our Coptic sisters and brothers

This weekend our Coptic sisters and brothers in Egypt will be celebrating Easter. For many the resurrection hope will be even more poignant.

Over the last year there has been an increase in the number of attacks against Christians in Egypt, including the Palm Sunday bombings in Alexandria and Tanta in 2017 which took the lives of 45 people and left at least 126 injured.

Egyptian Christians make up around 10% of the country’s population of 95 million and are by far the largest Christian presence in the Middle East. As Christians in Egypt mark Easter this Sunday, please join with us to pray that events would pass peacefully, and that each person would know the life and hope of the risen Lord Jesus.

And if you are celebrating Easter this weekend we pray that you too would have a blessed and joy filled Easter!
