EMBRACE LEGACIES

MAKE A LASTING DIFFERENCE

Leaving a legacy gift to Embrace in your will makes a lasting difference to people across the Middle East. Legacy gifts are vital to seeing lives changed. 1 in 4 of the projects we support are only possible because of people who leave us gifts in their will. Everything you need to know about leaving a legacy gift to Embrace can be found in our booklet, which you can request using the form below.

WHY LEAVE A GIFT IN YOUR WILL?

Because our partners rely on legacy gifts

Legacy gifts make change possible. A quarter of the projects Embrace funds have only been possible due to gifts left in wills. Legacy gifts multiply and grow; the effect on individuals, families and communities continues to ripple outwards, changing lives forever.

Because we will use your gift wisely and effectively throughout the region

Our specialist, unique knowledge means we understand the complex issues in the region. We have over 170 years’ experience of helping people of all faiths and none to free themselves from a life of poverty and injustice. We have built relationships with our trusted Christian partners in the region, who we know will use your gifts wisely and effectively.

Because stewarding our resources wisely, thoughtfully and prayerfully honours God and gives him glory

Recording your wishes legally and clearly allows you to make sure that, even after you are gone, His gifts to us can continue to be used as testimony to His goodness.

 THE DIFFERENCE YOUR LEGACY MAKES

Here are just a few examples of how legacies left by Embrace supporters have radically improved the lives of people across the Middle East.

£500 – Mobile clinics in rural Egypt

Christian Medical Fellowship, based in Cairo, works throughout rural Egypt to provide mobile medical services to communities who would otherwise not have access to healthcare. Their mobile clinics treat about 3,600 patients each year. They provide consultations, treatments, referrals, ECGs, tooth extractions and basic lab tests, as well as health awareness classes. The services are all free of charge for the patients, many of whom can’t afford to see a doctor.

Your legacy gift of £500 could help provide communities in rural Egypt with access to healthcare which would otherwise be out of reach for these communities.

£5,000 – Empowering women to start their own businesses

Embrace partner, the Salaam Centre, runs a women’s work co-operative. After receiving micro-loans and training at the Centre, small groups of women set up cottage industries creating high-quality clothes which they then sell. The women gain skills, build friendships and are able to support their families. Thanks to donations and legacy gifts, the project has been so successful it is now self-sustaining and we no longer support it financially, which is a fantastic outcome.

St Luke's Hospital ambulance, West Bank

£15,000 – Improving A&E access in the West Bank, Palestine

The makeshift ambulance bay at St Luke’s Hospital was a very small, tight space. Ambulances arriving carrying patients couldn’t access the A&E department easily, meaning lives were being put at risk. Using legacy gifts, Embrace helped the hospital to enlarge the access so ambulances were able to quickly and safely deliver patients and get back out on the streets. This simple change secured the emergency department licence, ensuring disadvantaged patients will have continued access to emergency care.
