The difference your Legacy gift makes

We know you understand the importance of the work our partners do...

Here are just a few examples of how legacies left by Embrace supporters have radically improved the lives of people across the Middle East.

£1,000 – Mobile clinics in rural Egypt

Christian Medical Fellowship treated 3,600 patients in their mobile medical clinics. They provided health awareness classes and gave children dental hygiene kits. The services are all free of charge for the patients, many of whom can’t afford to see a doctor.

£4,400 – Education for deaf children and their families in Lebanon

The Learning Center for the Deaf runs an early detection and assessment programme to ensure hearing-impaired children receive education and support they deserve. Disability education and awareness classes for parents provide support and information to encourage and equip families. Legacy gifts ensure hearing-impaired children have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

£7,000 – Women’s empowerment projects in Lebanon

A project from the Inter-Church Network for Development and Relief provides women, often refugees with language and literacy classes and homecraft skills. Women are also able to access classes which teach them about their rights, which in turn impacts their families and wider communities, by providing them with transferable skills and knowledge.

£14,400 – Improving A&E access in the West Bank, Palestine

The makeshift ambulance bay at St Luke’s Hospital was a very small, tight space meaning ambulances arriving carrying patients couldn’t access the A&E department easily and lives were being put at risk. This is turn was putting the entire hospital at risk of losing its emergency department licence.

Using Legacy gifts, Embrace helped the hospital to enlarge the vehicular access so ambulances were able to quickly and safely deliver patients and get back out on the streets. This simple change secured the emergency department licence ensuring disadvantaged patients will have continued access to emergency care.

£35,000 – Rehabilitation of ex-detainees in Jerusalem

East Jerusalem YMCA provide counselling programmes for children and young people who have been detained by Israeli Defence Forces.

They struggle to process their emotions and experiences and will suffer from grief, anger and shock. Counselling, including a focus on reconciliation, is essential in ensuring young people regain their health.

Our Christian partners also work with the families of young people, giving them skills and promoting understanding to best to support their child.

Making a Difference in Gaza - YouTube

Embrace the Middle East supporters have left gifts in their wills to support the vital work of our partners. At the Gaza YMCA, legacy money has paid for the renovation of two large, multipurpose halls and kitted them out with AV equipment.
